The problem with liking cars is the people who present the shows on TV. Let's face it, it's not "cool" to like cars, and people like James May dont change petrolheads' image one bit. Clarkson is entertaining to watch / read. I sometimes disagree with his opinions regarding what cars go on the cool / uncool wall. But Neutrino, let me explain for the M3. Well, BMW drivers arent the most popular here in the UK (much, much jealousy) and most people who drive M3's are a bunch of tossers, however wonderful the cars are.
So anyway, Tiff & the stig are the ones whose opinions should be taken more seriously. On that note, and back on-topic, TG tested the Carrera GT and Mc-Merc SLR. The SLR won the braking test (due to its air brake) but after 10 high-speed stops, its brakes caught fire! The Stig beat the TG test track lap record with the McMerc SLR with a 1m.20.9. The next day, he took out the Carrera GT and lapped in 1m19.8, and declared it, and i quote:

He did however spin the Carrera 3 times and said it was more difficult to drive than the SLR. The message was
"get it sideways at high speed and you won't catch it", which was supported by Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean

) ex-McLaren F1 owner. He tested the Carrera GT against an F1 on and off track in this month's evo. He declared the McLaren winner overall due to its more forgiving nature and ultimately more grunt.
