Building a Fujimi MK1 GT40, some Q's

Ok, first up, do any of the Fujimi mk1 GT40 kits have engine detail? I'm not too worried if they don't I'd just like to know.
Secondly, is it a good kit??
Thirdly, I will probably be doing the Kojima/Yamaha car (GT40P-1077), Alan Mann test car or the cartograf decal MK1 street kit, which wheels do you get? BRM or Halibrand? I would ideally like some BRM's. Also, are there any significant differences in these 3 kits beyond decals and moulding colour?

I am planning on basing my model loosely on an acquaintances real GT40 MK1 Replica which is currently in the build here in Australia and will be frighteningly quick - ie alloy block 364 ford windsor based stroker small block, air flow research heads, 8 throttle injection, motec, engine built in the 'states, hooked up to an audi motorsport transaxle - It made 500hp on the engine dyno at 6300rpm (it can rev significantly higher, this motor is the best of the best...) with a holley carb and dyno headers!! It will make a lot more power with the motec computer, 8 throttles and specific tuned exhaust...
Externally it is red with white striping, and rolling on BRM's. It has Gurney/weslake rocker covers for the period look Though I dare say there weren't too many alloy block, stroker windsor based GT40's in the 60's

as a side note, the same nutcase also has a road legal MY99 WRX which is being developed for circuit sprints (too heavily modded for any organised class based racing or tarmac rallying), which is currently making in the region of 400hp at the tyres (on an awd dyno) on 16psi of boost, but it is built to run 30psi when run-in...8 piston AP brakes which barely fit under 18" rims, 6 speed box, full roll cage, and more stuff than I can fit here..... Oh and an R33 GT-R that is currently disappointingly stock, except suspension and Buddy club bronze/polish 18" P1's...

some people....

All of Fujimi's Ford GT's are curbside(no engine)but there is a resin kit available in the US of the entire engine, transaxle and rear suspension. The kit is very high quality resin casting.

I have the Kojima version; It's excellent!! Currently contemplating doing the engine conversion for it though.

Re: Building a Fujimi MK1 GT40, some Q's

Judging by the box art the Kojima kit has six spoke BRM wheels, can you confirm that Tonio?
Interesting tidbit if information - the rear Halibrand wheels in Fujimi’s 1966 LM winning Mk II kit (and possibly others) are not symmetrical! The lip is slightly different on either wheel, not hugely noticeable, especially when they are fitted to opposite sides of the car. Weird though

3 Pictures...

You are correct Phil! Here's 2 quick pictures...

Also: there are several extra parts in the kit for building different variants I suppose. See the shaded areas in the pic below

You'll need to source one I believe.

Re: Building a Fujimi MK1 GT40, some Q's

Yeah none of the Fujimi GT40s have full engine detail. Only the part of the transmission that is visible from the rear. Of the kits I have, only the Mk II has PE included. Studio 27 make a nice set for the Mk I.

Re: Building a Fujimi MK1 GT40, some Q's

Hang on I do remember seeing an old GT40 kit that had a full engine. Can't remember the manufacturers name, Japanese I think. Was about to snap it up until I noticed it was in 1/25th scale
