see yourself

Have you ever thought about seeing yourself through someone elses eyes? What you might look like, or do? Don't say mirror, because that's just seeing yourself through your eyes.

I'd be interested in standing outside myself as a seperate entity for a minute. Sometimes that happens when I'm drunk.

Do you think we are different in each perspective?

Re: see yourself

Sure, why not? Sometimes I have to step outside of myself to see the bigger picture. The only problem with that is, there are so many different ways to look at something. How would you know which way to look?

What I mean is; imagine if you will, three seperate minds taking a gander at you. They will inevitably come to three different conclusions. They may be very similar, but contrary in the same rite. Which analysis do you take to be the one to contemplate?

In the end, it is you who has to look at yourself everyday. And who cares what anyone else thinks of you? Are you going to change your lifestyle/body to accomodate someone else's vision of what you are/should be? I should hope not. I think that someone who changes who they are fundamentally for someone else's gain needs to seriously take a look at themselves, and decide what is most important. What someone else thinks? Or what YOU think.

Man, I sort of went off on a rant there didn't I?

Back to your query; Of course we are different in each perspective. Everyone sees everything in a different light. That's why we have such diversity in our view of the world around us.

Re: see yourself

Of course.

When outmanouvering the boss or others, it helps to look through their eyes and assess all the options, the options to the options and 5 moves ahead.

Re: see yourself

I don't know if I would want to see myself through someone elses eyes. I would either hate me or love me more.

Re: see yourself

I've always wondered this myself. But, the more I think about it, the more it doesn't matter. I've got no one to impress. If they don't like me for being who I am, then they can just F-off.

Damn I was just thinking about this the other day. Not only through my friends eyes, but just people on campus or in my classes. As well as professors.

Out of body experiences are never boring. I've always wished that life had a seperate camera angle option, like a DVD.

You are always viewed by other based on their experiences, not yours. So it would be difficult, if not impossible, to accurately understand how others view you.

Even when intoxicated, your views of yourself are jaded though you may actually see an aspect that you may have missed before.

Re: see yourself

I don't really think most people are that self actualized to now care what other people think of them. That is.. unless they are married

I think the point Yogs brought up is interested. Perception is based off of experience. It seems so obvious, but I've never really thought of it that way.

All of the time in life, you have to take on different personalities for different people; your job, your home life, your internet friends, whatever. That's probably why it's so great when you actually get to know someone.

Yep. I know when I'm around adults I act in a far more formal manner. Which has gained me a lot of respect from my elders. I think though for the most part we act the same on the internet(there are exceptions) as we do with our own personal friends. A little more open, a little silly at times but who doesn't.
