'Premium' and 'Standard' rotors. What is the difference? ?

Thanks to all of you who gave me 'step by step' hints how to fix the front brakes.
Automotive technician from college helped me to change both (the rotors and pads). I bought the 'standard' type rotors and we installed them, plus the pads. He also 'tightened' the rear shoes.
I still can not understand what is the main difference between the Standard and Premium rotors. Both types look the same..
The material on both types is a cast iron. What makes the Premium rotors so much superior? (Standard = $ 50.00 each, Premium= $130.00 each).
I asked the technician who helped me to do the work, and he sees only one possible reason, that is maybe longer waranty on Premiums?
I was concerned that the brakes may squeel due to 'Standard' rotors and pads, but there is no diffrenece. Pedal is right back to the top where is should be.
The re -instalation (with the help of impact wrench) took about one hour and half.
Students will resurface the original rotors for me (they have the equipment).
What puzzles me is a discovery that the rear brakes were almost as new, could be because the previous owner and me did not 'hard drive' the car? No need for a panic braking?

When you used the impact wrench, did you take the socket off, turn it on high, and pretend you were in a NASCAR pit stop? I like to do that sometimes. hehehe.

yo uare paying way too much for rotors in either case. but the 'premiums' are typically USA or canadian bendix rotors made from a better grade of metal with a little heat treating. the standard ones are typically chinese or korean and I have found dont last nearly as long.

Thank you for your response, even though it did not satisfy my curiosity(Premium and Standard) rotors differences.
Hope that your was not an attempt to ridicule my limited expertize in the field of the car repairs. I teach a welding, know a lot about it. That is one field you would not be able to bellitle me.
