This isn't really an answer but I'm putting a V8 in my 93 twin turbo RX7 and will be having flames come out the sides. Well, it's going to be 500hp NA and the a 200 shot of Nitrous. I'm going to hook up a spark plug on each side and have them ignite when I'm spraying. I'll be running with nitrous pretty rich so my flames will be nice and long. Just thought I'd share since we're on the subject

What the heck is wrong with you!?!??! A twin turbo 13b can easily produce horsepower right up there with a v8...and it's lighter...I really hope your making this up...after all, the beauty of the RX-7 is the rotary engine!

I forgot to mention how STUPID of an idea it is to have flames shooting out of your car on purpose....also, if you're going to have a 200 shot of nitrous oxide, your car won't really be NA. Sorry I had to vent, the RX-7 is one of my favorite cars...I can't believe someone wants to ruin one with a v8!

Why???????????? Flames out the side are a byproduct of unburnt fuel leaving the combustion chamber and then being ignited as it passes out the exhaust. It serves no purpose other than it looks pretty cool.

Damn guys, maybe I should have told you my whole story.

whttrspunk- a rotary can not produce 700hp and be streetable. How much HP do you think Adam Sawatari has? I don't think he drives his on the street. Stock 93RX7 weights in at about 2800lbs, when I'm done with mine it will weight 2900lb and have a perfect 50/50 f/r. I didn't buy my RX7 for the rotary engine so I'm not going to keep it just cause I love it, sorry. I figure I will be in the 10's when I'm done and be a daily driven car. Who knows, maybe even 9's. I've done my share of homework, this is the best way to go in my book. I get to have power, reliability, alot more tech help, more parts, better sounding, oh did I mention reliable?

About the flames out the sides, I'm not doing it just to look cool and I sure am not making my car run rich for the flames. Actually, when I use nitrous I will run pretty rich just to be safe. I figure if I'm running that rich I might as well do something with it. So, I'm not doing it to look cool, it's just going to look cool when I do. See, so I'm not running rich to make the flames. With or without the flames, I'm going to run rich anyways. I know you guys are trash talking about the flames now but I bet if one comes to your local dragstrip and blows some fat 3ft flames you'll be looking at his next runs.

and what's the purpose of a body kit, roof scoop, spoiler, clear corners, headlight kits? All for looks and does no purpose, well no real purpose
