well it depends on the year for the engines but as far as interior the sl has leather,ecs, possibly 6disc cd changer not possitive about that but yeah 96 and on i believe only have 162 hp sohc 6g72

it was actually 97+ was when the base dropped to a 161 hp, and the SL dropped down to 218 for some unknown reason. Anyways, other than that, the difference between the SL and base, as stated above are features, such as ECS (electronically controlled suspension), leather seats, sunroof, power drivers seat, and the 6 disk changer. Some bases were special ordered to have some of those features, but none of the bases had ECS.
