What turbo is suited for me?

Im new to the whole turbo world, and i'm looking to turbo a KA24de. It's going to be a daily driver. I would like to have at LEAST 250 hp at the wheels. Tell me what turbo's would be good for me.

Re: What turbo is suited for me?

Since you're new to turbocharging then the best bet would be to buy a premade kit. Check out the kits from Nsport, XS Enginnering, FMAX, and Real Nissan. Greddy makes one as well, but I, along with many others, aren't too fond of greddy kits.

Since you said you don't know the difference between turbo's and if you really feel like putting together your own kit then I recommend going to your closest bookstore and buying Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. It's crazy how much you will learn about turbocharging a motor from that book.

But for 250 whp, you can make that at 7psi with a T3/T4. 60 trim compressor wheel, .60 A/R T04E housing. .63 A/R turbine housing with a stage 3 wheel. You can upgrade to the stage 5 wheel for more flow, but it's not required.

Hell, not sure if you've heard of him or not, but the guy who owns www.ka24de.com made 410 whp at only 17.5 psi on that same exact turbo I just told you to use. He even used the stage 3 wheel that it comes with. That just shows you the potential of that turbo. Quick spool + great power.

Re: Re: What turbo is suited for me?

damm u j spec- beat me to the punch... i like the t04b .63 a/r its pretty decient and you can build 250hp easily i suggest getting a smalle wheel tho.. if u want quicker spool up but be prepared to sacrifice some topend power for lo-end acceleration..

Re: What turbo is suited for me?

I have a buddy that is selling his T61 (i think that is what it is) he is getting 397 to the wheels right now with it. he is getting a t66. anyways, he can put a setup for me no problem, but i dont know if that turbo is too big for me to get quick spool. will i have to wait till like 4k RPM's for it to kick in? i know its not possable to have the best of both worlds, but what turbo would be a mix of low and high rpm boost... thanks

Re: Re: What turbo is suited for me?

we cannot determine that without a a/r size and wheel size,
just a tip b4 you ask any question about a spicific turbo application get a a/r and a trim size so that we can be able to give you a detailed answer.
