Time for some Rims...
i've decided to just go ahead and get rims while i'm already in need of tires. hopefully i can get a good deal on a rim and tire package, but i need some help deciding. i'm most likely getting 18's.
i like these: ![]() and these: ![]() ![]() what would you guys go with? I'm leaning towards the first ones.

Definitely the first one. That'll look hot. I'm trying to get my mom to trade rims with me. She has a 2K3 SE with the 17"s.

Re: Time for some Rims...
the only problem with the first ones is that they have 2 finishes, chrome and one called "diamond cut" the chrome ones come with a bolt pattern for a 5.5 gen(5x114.3) but only in 19" which is slightly out of my price range. the 18" chromes come in bolt patterns 5x112, 5x120, and 5x135 which won't fit my car. the "diamond cut" ones come in my bolt pattern and in 18"'s but i don't know what the hell diamond cut looks like so i'm hesitant to buy them. I'm definitely gettin something this weekend but i'm not sure what yet. anyone know what diamond cut looks like compared to chrome and if it's any lower quality? it costs about $120-$200 less than the chromies.

Re: Time for some Rims...
Go for the second ones, unless you're just chromecrazy or going for the look only.
Everybody acts as though they have to be the same (I mean as far as chrome goes) be different, don't go with it because everyone else has it. I think that black ones like tight, sure they're not all bling-bling like the chromies but so what, hardly anyone will have them and I think with the color of your car and a 20% tint and a Teindrop it would look off da chain, plus I'm sure they're not heavier than the chromies. Think of the look, the gas mileage vs chrome and the acceleration vs chrome.

Re: Time for some Rims...
i wish i could see a photoshop of both sets on my car. i really like em both, they're very simialr design, almost identical, except for color. i think i may get the first one's and then one day have them powdercoated gunmetal.
i spoke to pete from gotwheelsandtires.com and he said the weight difference between the chrome rims and diamond cut alloys is less than one pound per rim, chrome being heavier obviously, and they are out of the 18" black ones anyway so i'm gonna go with the ADR sterlings and wrap 'em in some falken zeix's for now.

Re: Re: Time for some Rims...
I'm going to place my order tomorrow for the ADR Sterlings and then i'm gonna order a set of H&R springs too from tirerack.com. how long do you think i can last on stock struts with a 1.5" drop? i still got a little saving to do before i can get my tokico illumina's.

But anyway, it is your decision and I sure that whatever you decide you'll be happy and the look will be clean and tight, btw any idea on the cost for all of that?

Re: Time for some Rims...
i just ordered yesterday. it was $1629 for the ADR Sterlings and Nanking tires. they come mounted and balanced though so i don't have to take the rims to a tire shop for that plust there's no tax and gotwheels and tires is having a deal for free shipping. the BSA black rims were just under a grand for the same deal.
who knows? i may order those other rims too at some point in time. i'll have a lil variety in my max and can swap between chrome and black once in a while. Or i could always have the rims powdercoated black or gunmetal. nothing's permanent. i know what you mean about that look you're talking about. i saw a pic of a skyline in my color with rims like that, a CF hood, and a CF spoiler and blackouts over the headlights and i fell in love with it.
