Re: hey!

Not always...some japanesse cars are really sucky. But compared to american economy cars, yes their quality.

The s2000 2.0 239 h.p engine is the best mass produced engine honda has done, period. It doesent matter if you cant squeeze that much hp out of it. Out of the box, it murders any inline four NA on this planet.

are you talkin to me? ...no i dont even race yet. but im sure i can beat somthing similar to my sentra with a honda badge. lets say a 91 4-door honda civic!? whats the hp on those? torque? numbers? my car has 110hp stock, and 108lbs-ft torque. now i have a K&N filter and a high-flow cat, then 2" mendrell bent pipe, all leading to a Magnaflow muffler. i dont think you should even hook those cars up. not even me, i just want my car to breathe better but i think i should be able to spank a civic similar to mine with the mods i have.

Did an of the Inbreeds from the previous page realize the reason it is so hard to extract power out of the S2000 motor is because it was well designed and very well tuned in the first place. Honda desgined it to be a high-reving N/A motor, and the pushed a lot of out it for the size. The reason it's hard to extract power it because they designed it well. But do thery realize this? No, of course not, their to busy f....ok...it's stop with that one there, lol. But seriously. It's hard to extract power frpoom Becuase Honda A) Designed it well and B)Tuned it well, versus D-tuning it. Did they ever stop to think the reason it's easy to extract power out of a lot of weaker motors...it's because many a motor comes DETUNED from the Factory, and that's not even taking into acount how well they were designed. If you want to though, you can get some power out of the 2000 motor. It was either Comptech or Vortec who had a Supercharger for the S2000 which had more pre-vtec torque than the stock N/A S2000's peak torque, which is post vtec of course. That supercharger really bumped the power numbers all things considered. Anyone who knows me on here knows a I hate Superchargers and generally prefer turbos as a route when applicable. For me to compliment a Supercharger, it must have done a pretty good job.

Re: hey!

yeah but still, it sucks cause its toped out! the most powerful in the world is like 500hp? a SR20DET tops out at 700hp. and this is 13 year old technology! so dont come up with this "the s2000 is a badass engine"

yea 500 hp that really sucks. Its a badass motor for n/a. SR20 is a beast turbo motor and they can make more then 700 Tomei made a 800HP one that ran race gas.
sk2 is a great motor for what it is desgined to work just how it does can't ask more out a company.

And 500HP is a bad motor? The S2000 can handle on a track like it's on rails. 500HP is a lot for a motor, whether you think it is or not...How many 500HP motors have you seen? Also, as Ace$nyper said, the S2000 Motor is one hell of an N/A motor. Turbo motors will almost always have a higher end potential for power due to the fact that it's Forced Induction...it can shove more air into it, it's the very nature of HOW the motor makes power. A stock N/A 240HP 4-banger is impressive, like it or not. Topping that out around 500HP is even more impressive. BTW, the 13 year difference doesn't mean anything to me. 13 year old technolgy? They are both Internal Combustion Pistion Engines, so the basic technolgy of HOW the motor works didn't change. It's just engine design and tuning, etc. The S2000 motor is a great Motor for what Honda Designed it to do. It was never designed to be a Drag car, it was designed to be a track car. It handles like it's on rails, and with the proper suspension mods it will only get better. 500HP is a heck of a top end for a car designed for the twisties and the track. Not all cars and motors are designed for straight line speed, remember that before you go bashing them. Just because YOU don't repesct cars designed for these other purposes doesn't mean others feel the same way.

that's all that needs to be said. Engine was built for one purpose and that is it. How many track cars do you see with a 4500 rpm redline. Different cars are built for different applications.

BTW: I missed you at HIN, gave you a call, twice i think, but it was hella loud in there, I'll shoot you a PM.

Yeah, my phone kept dying on me. I forgot to bring my charger up to seattle with me. I had a car charger, but that didn't do any good in that situation of course.

BTW:I wish everyone realized what you said....different cars are build for different applications.
