1996 Towing package ?

How can I tell if my 96 T&C has the towing package? I just purchased this vehicle. It does have a reese hitch on it that takes the 3/4 x 2 1/2"
bar ballmount. The hitch is rated for 3500lbs max trailer and 300lbs tongue weight. Is this the hitch than came with the towing package?

Thanks
Bob

my 96 has the towing package, the only thing that came with it was upgraded suspension, a larger radiator, and a wiring harness, no hitch was offered. Is your van an LXi? We were told all of the LXi models were shipped with the towing package, but thats what the salesman told us, who knows. You could probably take your VIN to the dealership parts dept and have them check it for you.

I had a question about the suspension. my van has always been tight in the road, and great in curves, but its time for new struts. my cousin who also has a 96 lxi with towing pkg, had new struts put on, and his is floaty and wishy washy like the old body style vans, and im afraid to change my struts, i dont want my 96 to be a floater...its so fun to drive with the tight suspension....

let me know what you find out

No mine is not the LXi or the LX just the regular T&C though it seems to have most of the options at least all I need.
I suspect that the hitch was put on after,or maybe a dealer add on since the reese sticker is still on it. Where would I find the wiring harness? I assume that you mean under the back bumper for the trailer lights. If I find out ant more info I'll post it here.

If you want a firm ride then get Monroe Sensatrac replacements , got these on my 96 Voyager and now some 30000 miles later the ride is still nice and firm and solid . Get the Sensa trac shocks for the rear while you are at it .

I called the dealer and gave the parts man my VIN and unfortunately my T&C does not have the towing package.

hate to hear that, they drive great without it though, just a little tighter right and they hug the turns a little better with the towing package
