Leather Repair/Restoration

Is it possible to repair/restore the leather seats (front and back) ourselves without buying new "skins?" The leather isn't torn or anything, it's just worn due to its age. Are there kits out there that would do the job? Or would I just be better off taking it to a shop and having them do the work? How much would that cost?

Re: Leather Repair/Restoration

Our seats are more vinal(sp?) than actually leather. only the center section of the seats is leather the sides and rear seats are vinal.

You can find a paint to repair worn spots on the side colters. and if you have the materials, a industrial sewing machine and the skill you can replace the worn pannels.

Nope, no skill here... So should I just take it to the shop? How much would that be?

Re: Leather Repair/Restoration

I wasn't planning on buying new seats, just getting new skins or restoring the old ones. I guess which ever is cheaper I'd probably go that way... I thought about getting rid of the back seats but sometimes, I may need it for people to sit in (even if there's barely any room there) so I think I'm just gonna leave it for now.

But yeah, has anyone restored their leather themselves before?
