Made a big mistake, how bad is it

Im doing a rebuild on a d15b7,I put that head on and no prob blaa blaa blaa, i get the tighten sequenece, and what i didnt know is the pciture i had was loosing sequence i realize this after its been trq'd down. So after i figure that out, i take it off and check it on one of those boards to see if something is flat. The warpage limit was 2 thousands, i put in on there, no rockage at all. Teacher said there still might be a chance there are cracks in the head, what is the liklyhood of that happening.

i would think the only thing that would be wrong was that you need a new head gasket

Re: Made a big mistake, how bad is it

As long as you have checked the head from corner to corner in an X patern and ran the feeler gauge all the way accross the distance of the head and you did not have more than the allowed clearance then you should be fine. I would suggest new head bolts though because they stretch every time you torque then down and the torque wrench will not account for this and they will become weaker every time you torque them. Get new ones they are not that much money for added security.
