Buying recommondation plz

I'm thinking about purchasing a 1991 Toyota Celica GT-4 (ST-185), that's 5th generation isn't it?!?
For what parts should I pay special attention when before purchasing?
How many miles does the engine last aprox.? (same for clutch etc.)
And any other informations about it.

Thanx Bean:bandit:

Yeah the ST185's are the 5th gens. Check out www.allwheelmotion, www.alltrac.net or www.gtfour.com Tons of info on those sites and GTFour.com also has a buyers guide too. I'll likely be getting an ST185 very soon too. They're very robust and the engine is a beast. They're kinda heavy, but you can strip some useless weight out plus mods aren't too expensive. Good luck and hope this helps.:alien:

Any pros an cons about the ST 185. Cause my choice was between the ST 185 or a 200SX. I found the Celica more suitable 'cause of the alltrac especialy in seasons like this.

And what mods (airintake, cooler, exhaust, boost, etc.) are easy to do and should I start with?

Thnx in advance Bean:bandit:

The only real issues I've seen are the wheel bearings that tend to eventually wear out and sometimes the clutch wears out faster than usual, but otherwise it's great Toyota quality all the way. I also know of a lot of guys getting their turbos rebuilt, but I don't think it's so much of a quality issue as an issue a lot of turbos have. Most of the guys I've talked to say that they're just getting broken in at 100k. Of the two cars you're looking at I'd say it's more of a personal choice than anything. Both the 200SX and GT4 are sweet cars and can be made to put down some good power and handle very good. It's just a damn shame we here in the US never got the same 200SX though...ours was a lame ass front wheel drive compact car as opposed to the rwd sports coupe you have there. I'll be going to check out an All Trac or two within a week myself. Good luck either way
