Dome comes on with window,brake,lock,...

This is an odd one and almost sounds like a sitcom gag. My dome light comes on when I roll the sindows up to the stop , when i press the brake, when i turn the wipers on and when i press the lock button. It almost seems like any time I create a ground with any other circuit it activates the dome light. Has any one ever seen this. Can the ground from those circuits feed back thru the dome circuit? HELP

Oh and if I lock the doors upon exit the lights never turn off.

that odd! try a continuity tester on your fuse box put it to the dome light fuse (fuse pulled out) then try your turn and all the other things that make it come on the light will light when the dome should be on you may have a jumper in there somewhere or a half busted fuse. Hopes this helps, all guessed by the way.

Well I believe I narrowed it down to the headlight switch. The dome light button on the lower left appears to be bad. Ill post after I replace it.

Talking Re: Dome comes on with window,brake,lock,...

HEY GUYS....I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!......MY WIFE WAS USING MY TAHOE WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN FOR A FEW DAYS, WELL LOW AND BEHOLD "SOMEHTHING BROKE" WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING IT (happens everytime she has it, but that's another story) WELL THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING TOTALLY SO SHE RAN IT OVER TO MY BUDDY'S SHOP AND HE FOUND THAT THE CONTROL BOARD AT THE WIPER MOTOR HAD SHORTED OUT,(now mind you that i had a brief problem with the wippers stopping every once in while when they were in high speed for a long period, so i would turn them off and back on and they would work fine, this was about the same time i began to have the interior lighting issue) SO HE REPLACED IT AND THE WIPERS WORKED....NOW HERE'S THE GOOD PART, WHEN I RETURNED I HAD NOTICED THAT THE DOME LIGHT SWITCH WAS OUT IN THE "ON" POSITION AND THE LIGHTS WERE WORKING CORRECTLY, NOT BLINKING, NOT DOING THE "ON AND OFF" THING EVERYTIME YOU TOUCH SOMETHING. SO I STOPPED AT MY BUDDY'S SHOP TO ASK HIM WHAT HE DID AND HE SAID THAT ALL HE DID WAS REPLACE THE BOARD AT THE WIPER MOTOR....SO JUST TO EASE MY MIND I HAD HIM THROW THE OLD BOARD BACK IN AND GUESS WHAT THE LIGHT PROBLEM CAME BACK! SO HE SWAPPED OUT THE BOARD WITH THE NEW ONE AND ALL IS WELL AGAIN! SO I AM SURE THAT THE SHORT OR GROUNDING ISSUE WAS FROM THAT WIPER BOARD.......
