94 accord troubles

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and hope I can get some help. My girlfriend owns a 94 Accord, it started sputtering yesterday morning, and wouldnt run. When I got home last night, I took a look at it. By the way this is the first time I've worked on a Honda, as I typically stay with European stuff (BMW's). So I cranked the car, it sounds like it's missing on 1 cylinder. Its been raining here, and thought maybe she got some water in the distributor cap or somewhere along the ignition system. I replaced the plugs, cap, rotor, with new ones, and it helped for a minute, but then started sputtering again. I'm upset, because this is the first time i've run into a problem with a car and couldn't fix it. It was late last night, and said it would have to wait.
So basically the car sound's like it's not firing on one cylinder. but it only does it in short sessions. I revved the engine, and it only seems to do it under load, if you smoothly rev the engine, it revs fine.
I'm out of idea's, other than some sensor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks,
Josh
