extra hp suppressed in the stock exhaust?

Hey I've been looking around in past forums and found one where they say that the extra 10 hp that the Spec V gets than the SE-R comes from a less restrictive exhaust. Would an aftermarket exhaust add those 10 horses back?

Another question is what's the 1/4 mile difference between a stock SE-R automatic to a Spec V? and how much total horses would I/E/H add to the car?

Re: extra hp suppressed in the stock exhaust?

It's a lie, the extra power (if there really is any extra power) is in the ECU tuning and the intake system. The exhaust is identical between the two models, they even have the same part numbers. You will gain a few hp from upgrading the exhaust, maybe 3-5 depending on what else you have on the car.

A stock auto SE-R is in the low 16's in the 1/4, after IHE it will be closer to a 15.7 or so.

Wow haha didn't know they are that slow, that just brought down my self esteem. But a few weeks ago I was using those G-Tech things ( I know they arn't totally accurate with 1/4 mile times) and I ran a 15.05 with it on. They can't be like a whole second difference with the real 1/4 mile time can it? All I got on there is a Greddy cat back and an AEM intake. Also it was tested on the high way where it's completely straight and not a hill either. But then a few nights after that, I tried again, I got a bit more tire spin than the first time, and I also had my sunroof open but it said I ran a 15.4

Re: extra hp suppressed in the stock exhaust?

You definately aren't running that fast in an auto SE-R, not even close

Here is the list of 1/4 times from B15sentra, it has the car and all of the mods for each time
http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/show...threadid=79944

If you notice, the fastest auto SE-R on that list is jnaks with a 15.55. That's also with IHE, timing, suspension, underdrive pulley, weight reduction, and a relocated knock sensor.
