brakes look like sh*t
Alright, heres the deal; I recently got a set of 17" wheels put on my 2000 neon and now the brakes look like hell. I know i can get a big brake kit for the front since they are disc, but the rear is drum. I dont know of anywhere that sells a conversion kit so what i need to know is where can i go to find brakes off of an srt-4.(or r/t if it has rear disc) There is no where around where i live where i could find a wrecked one. Any help is appreciated. BTW if anyone knows of a place that does sell conversion kits for 2nd gen. neons that would be even better, but all the performance shops ive been to say that no one has them.

You could always do what I have done and buy you some good brake cleaner a scotchbrite pad and a couple cans of paint to match the car (or not). Cleaning them is the key to getting the paint to stick to them good.Mine look awsome but ive got them mostlly covered up with factory rims.While you are at it tuck some news paper in around the strut boot and fender well and paint the springs and struts.Once it dries take out the news paper.And Paint the wheel wells black,then go back with some clear coat and give everything a few light coats or like i do till it runs out. thanx. i've thought about that, but i wanna go for the disc conversion if possible. the thing is that the drums are really small in the back. i'm thinking that would just make the small brakes more noticable; which is what i don't want. i appreciate the suggestion though.
Anyone got any more ideas??

just go to a junkyard and buy the complete rear disk setup of another neon. Kids do that all the time woth first gens, and iknow you can do the same with a 2nd gen, prob only be a $100-$200 for everything. just call up some junkyards you'll find the parts.

Do a search on the net. You never know what will come up for junkyards. That's how I found one here in Norfolk,Va.

yeah just go to smartpages.com and look for auto recyclers, most places will ship your parts.
