I think all the japanese car companies are messing up. All the new model super cars have v-stlye enines, no induction. Examples the (Nissian 350z v6) (Nissian GTR v8) (Mazda rx-8) (Toyoda Supra). These cars are becoming more and more like american cars.

3500cc V6. You adopt the strong VVTL-i in the high rotary limits. You expect 300 horsepower over!

If toyota was only considering bringing the supra back that almost certainly changed to when once they saw the huge popularity of the new Nissan 350z........That yellow picture seems right because it would be competing with the nissan so it needs to be about the same size.....I think taht a twin turbo will deff come back as toyota will hope to regain the "affordable" super car title. All signs point to the fact that they will learn from there last attempt and keep the prices down and with competion around 30,000-40,000. Expect a NA base model and a Twin turbo upper model. The NA will go right after the Current Z car and the Turbo will hopefully crush the up coming RX7 which mazda promised will have a turbo option........Nissan is also rumored to have a Turbo option coming out.....Curently Nismo offers a turbo that keeps the factory warrenty......2004 is shaping up to be just like the 95-97 years with the 300zx Supra and RX7 except this time the Jap manufactors are using all there lessons wisly and giving us what we want......High horse power great handling at low prices.....
Ryan Also dont be surprised if toyta calls the new "Supra" something else... 2000GT which is what the "supra was in its early 70's days |

moving away from turbos
the car makes are getting away from turbos cause of cost of upkeep on them and the fact of turbo lag that is why toyota keeps coming out with superchargers you lose 5% of the power but gain 30% so the pay off is better and the is less warranty repairs that the have to pay with a supercharger.

is300 = Supra
Last year i was working for a Lexus dealership, i was lucky enough that during by stay, to see the president of Toyota USA, when came down and visited the place....one of the many questions that was asked, was if there is an faster is 300 coming out......his answer was that they had an is 430 on the prints (V8 4.3l) with all wheel drive, all wheel steering, and on top of that it was a stick shift......but they were not going to come out with it because the is300s were selling to well....well the hole point to this story is that instead of coming out with the is430 they throw all that stuff in to the new supra......so i think that the V8 4.3 engine is a good guess....
Got turbo?!

IS430 is gross
I like the IS300 though...along with the new 350z and even the RX8 is growing on me slightly. The RX-8 makes sense that it's N/A since the 3rd gen 7 had so much problem with overheating from the twins. I'm hoping the new supra doesn't look stupid and hopefully it will be an inline 6 or v6...I'll even accept a 4 cylinder since their 3sgte is a very decent engine. Really I think the golden age for us (people, mostly men, 16-24) will be the mid-90s cars like the RX7, Supra, 240SX, MR2, 300ZX, etc...these cars look great to us and that's what we expect from new cars. I think the best we can hope for is that the new cars coming out don't completely suck...

Re: The 2004 Toyota Supra Pics?
the new supra is gonna be a whole lot more than 30 g's hell, the non-turbo version went for $40,999 at original sticker value for a 93.5 MKIV. They are jacking the price up to about 80K for this car, just a rumor of course, but common sense would lead you to believe that a car like that Toyota is gonna know this car is gonna sell so they're gonna jack the price up.

Lexus is coming out with several models which will run on Hybrid power trains. One hybrid will have 500HP; this power train will be used in the LS version of a Lexus.
I have a feeling that the Toyota super car will be using the same power train. V10 Lexus http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothr...print&id=12053
