Need Help with 1997 Z24 Power Window Stall.

Hello all.

I've got a problem with the power windows on my 97 Z24. First it started with the driver side, and now it's happening with the passenger side.

When I roll the window down (like when going to a drive-through ATM or the McDonald's take-out window), it stops working after getting most of the way down. If I wait some time (30 seconds or so), the window will move again (up or down), but only about an inch at a time. Then I have to wait another 30 seconds or so. I repeat for a couple of minutes until the window is back up.

My AC stopped working over the winter too. I figure I need to fix one or the other, or else I'll bake inside my car this summer. I thought replacing the window motor would be easier (if this is the problem, of course).

Also, does anyone know any good after-market replacement motors (again, if this is actually the problem).

My Z24 has 190,000 miles on it. Original engine, original clutch (believe it or not). It burns a little oil, but is still running strong. I love my car.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
P

It is the problem. you should be able to get the motor at Autozone, otehr wise get the p/n and go to GMpartsdirect.com and order it there...
