Car Hesitation or Burp

As I have stated in other threads, my 99 intrigue has 135,000 Canadian Km on it (90k Miles) and it has started to hesitate within the first five minutes of use. This problem seems to show itself if I rev up to 2500 rpms. Once it has burped/hesitated once, I usually do not get the problem again until the next trip. If I try to aviod the 2500rpm by driving slowly up to speed it will happen later at 2500rpm once I reach my crusing speed of 120KM/HR or 75M/HR (Canadian Highway....Fast as you can go without getting caught...like in ITaly). The first time I brought it into the repair shop they said "nothing to fix". OK, the SES light was on and I did not feel the first hesitation. It is now happening on each trip.

One smart member "illinoiswronski" has told me that it might be my crankshaft allignment sensor. I would ask "why does it only happen once each trip?" This seems to be a of the RPM and a first time diaphram of some sort warming up or moving. What does the "fuel pressure sensor do? Could this sensor be just warming up and causing a poor mix?

I need help before I spend the big bucks. Any way to get the codes without going to a dealer?

Regarding the crank position sensor, the 3.5L engine has one module with two crank position snesors in it. It is a redundant system, the PCM will use both sensors, but if one fails it will switch to use only the other sensor. At the next power up the PCM will try to use both sensors again until one of them fails again. This burp is when the PCM looses one sensor and switches to the other.

I am not sure if this sounds like your problem or not as I can't understand from the above if the SES light comes on each time you get this burp and stay on until you turn the engine off and then back on. As far as I know, everyone on this message board who has had the crank position snesor problem has gotten the SES light with a code stored pointing directly to the sensor (something like P0335-P0339 or P0385-P0389). As I said, the SES light will go on and stay on until the car is turned off.

Also, most auto parts stores sell variations on devices that plug in to the port to read out codes.
