I just got a 2001 Jimmy SLT and just notice a humming noise/slight vibration on left side of floor, while I'm driving and turn the steering wheel 10-15 degree to the right.... No pulling whatsoever
Could it be left front bearing, or the power steering?? |

Re: 2001 Jimmy SLT humming noise front end....
Check your power sterring fluid first. Thats easiest.
Might wanna pull your wheel and repack the bearings if its not PS fluid... |

If it get louder as you turn one diredtion while driving and quieter in the other direction, it is a wheel bearing.
The wheel bearing / hub assembly is a one piece unit, and unfortunately is not too cheap. I would suggest that you replace it with ACDelco OEM parts. Only because I have yet to see one of the new design hubs go bad, and have seen almost every aftermarket cheap-o hub fail within 2 years of replacement. Hope this helps. |

Re: 2001 Jimmy SLT humming noise front end....
I too have a 2001 Jimmy, 4-wheel drive. The left front wheel bearing/hub failed at 43,000 miles and now the right one is noisy at 48,000 miles. Is this common on a '01 4-wheel drive Jimmy?
