Hey Guys~
I just bought a 1991 Plymouth Laser last night, 202K miles on it, paid 900 bucks for it. I seem to have an exhaust leak of some sort because when im driving it i get a really bad exhaust smell inside, and it got kind of smoky last night inside the car. It also smokes a little more than it should from the exhaust. Also, i seem to never have good oil pressure, and i was wondering if anyone else knew about these problems, or could tell me something i could use. I'm just thinking if it was worth the 900 bucks i paid for it. No body damage or anything, but i just need to know whats goin on with the engine if its somethin bad. Anything would be greatly appreciated~ Thanks... |

Re: 1991 Plymouth laser problems...
You've got oil control problems. Basically, from what you describe (and considering the milage on it), your piston rings are likely worn, and either the oil pump or crank bearings are worn. You could try something like Restore engine treatment, or something like that. That may or may not help it.
