I was wondering if anyone had an answer to this question. What does a torsion bar do and will it solve the problem of traction? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated? Also, is anyone selling any slicks?

Re: Torsion Bar (Arm)
Torsion bars are used on RWD cars and it's main function is to keep the axel and housing from rolling during heavy acceleration or to prevent wheel hop during burnouts. For FWD cars you'll need a radius arm kit. A company in New Jersey called Z10 makes them and they basicly are a heavy duty sub frame connector. Radius arms connect the lower control arms to the front subframe. The effect is total elimination of wheel hop by preventing the lower control arms from deflecting under the load of acceleration, even on stock worn out bushings. Also as a side benifit they'll increase the steering response and handling of your car.
That help you any? |

Re: Torsion Bar (Arm)
Correction....
TORSION bars are used on 4x4 trucks and *some* cars to replace coil springs on the front end. And no this too will not solve your traction issue. In my error I was thinking you meant torsion bars as in "ladder bars" or "slapper bars" like you see on muscle cars. |
