I dunno, dude...I've been trying to figure it out for the last 4 years!! My car does it to. I've had wheel alignment after wheel alignment, new tires, balancing, you name it, I tried it. I've just come to accept that thats the way it is. My dads theory is that it's because the car doesn't have a counter balance shaft in the engine like the 88's and up, but ??? who knows?

Clean the half shafts real good, wrap a continuous layer of duct tape around them in the middle then finish it off with a couple cable ties to keep it from coming undone. It's kinda like a harmonic damper for your driveshafts....it worked for my 87 Shelby

I once had a 1985 Shelby Charger. But never experienced that wobbling effect you mentioned about going at those speeds. Maybe need to check the RIM's or brake rotors to make sure they're not warped.

Mine does that as well. I am thinkin that i need to replace the intermediate shaft and clips.Mine did not do it until the cv joints were replaced. Well...... and a few real real real hard launches. After running a 2.96 60 ft time on street tires with a 9.5 1/8 mile run at 86 mph.I am going to go with slicks this year and get traction in all 3 gears this time.Gotta fix the trans though. GEE WONDER WHY ? Shelby said himself if you have turbo lag you don't know how to drive the car. HMMM ! no turbo lag on this car.
