Angry Sub seems to fuzz

ok i got a 600 watt pioneer amp with a 600 watt sub hooked up to it. when volume is turned up the sub seems to just thump very little and fuzzes and makes a terrable sound. what is the problem because the sub is brand new and i want it to thump and it will just crackle and fuzz. Any input on the situation would be greatly appreciated because i need it to work. could it possibly be the amp or what?

sounds like you done blowed up the sub. Here's a test, while palying at low to med volume - push the cone in slightly. If the razz goes away, the speaker voice coil is blown
