I did a lot of searching to find the best "Roll Top" bed cover. I want something strong, lockable, water tight, and dosent cover up my stake pockets to put in bed rails.I looked into Pace Edwards, Roll N' Lock, etc. At the end of my search I found the "Retrax" Roll top. I was wondering if anyone has one of these and if they have had any problems and are they worth the cash. Thanks.

Re: Retrax Tonneu Cover
My neighbor has a 99 Sierra and has the Roll and lock style cover and hates it, it leaks in small spots and after a year of heavy use it jams up and he is always trying to fix it he told me to stay clear of them and just buy the hard Tonneau Cover with Struts.

Re: Retrax Tonneu Cover
Im sorry to hear that, But a hard cover just wouldent work for me. Im not that worried about leaks, I just need the convenience. I also saw a few problems with the Roll N' Lock brand. I was wondering if anyone has a Retrax cover. They seemed to be built the best,Hard Lexane instead of Vinyl. It wouldent be used everyday, probly just once or twice a week. I dont know what is considered heavy use. But is definetly something that I need.

Re: Retrax Tonneu Cover
I also looked into a retractable cover for the same reasons. I worried about them binding up over time and how hard they were to remove when needed. I decided to go with the Fold-a-Cover instead. ( http://truckgadgets.com/Truckgadgets...foldacover.htm ) It was quite a bit cheaper and provided everything I wanted except that it covered the stake holes. Other than that, I was very happy with it. I had it done 2 weeks ago.
Good luck..........Frank |
