Re: Info on 300Zx

1) i have heard that a 300zx can handle up to 500 hp on stock internals. so you shouldnt have too much of a problem with 400 hp.

2) if you dont tell the insurance that you got aftermarket parts, then they will not cover them. but when you tell them you got aftermarket parts, your insurance will go up, so its all a risk. also, if you have a performance part on your car and you get in a wreck, they can blame the damage from the wreck on the performance part and so they wont have to cover anything because you dont have that part covered under insurance. its all a big gamble.

Re: Info on 300Zx

holy crap. how much of a deductible are you getting with that? i (well, my mom) talked to our insurance yesterday and for a nissan 300zx n/a 2-seater with a $500 deductible, it would be $175 a month. but that is with parents. but still, bout $650 a month is really really high.

Re: Info on 300Zx

i am under my parents insurance. which means that my parents have insurance, then they just add me and for some reason that makes it lower. i also get good student discount (which is if i have 3.0 gpa or higher, i get a discount). also, i dont have any wrecks or tickets on my record, so that makes it lower. my insurance company is state farm insurance.

Re: Info on 300Zx

thanks, that probably what im going to do.I didnt know about the student discount, but its good cause im well over 3.0 GPA in High School. If the insurance is higher for the 300Zx TT, than i probably will get the 4 seater, and i can just add the headers and the intake, exhaust, etc.. Im not 16 yet but I'll be in 2 months, so Im doing all the research now, i wonder if me only getting my permit is going to affect the price of the insurance too?, but i can wait until I get my lisence in 6 months and then buy, right. How old are you? Ar u still in High School?

Re: Info on 300Zx

:sigh: Kids will be kids....

The ORIGINAL TOPIC had nothing to do with INSURANCE...

But since this thread is off topic: YOU GUYS ARE BOTH 16! YOU WANT TO DRIVE A SPORTS CAR (Z)! YOU WILL PAY ALOT OF MONEY FOR INSURANCE! Although I love the TT Z... and I hope you guys can someday own one, I think you are better off with an NA Z first! It's cheaper to maintain and hopefully you will not get into as much trouble with it rather than with the TT... I always say: 'baby steps first, big strides later'. Once you get accustomed to a NA car then get a more powerful TT. Learn how to control a less powerful car first!

Re: Info on 300Zx

i am getting a n/a. i will just probably keep my n/a my whole life. and make a fast n/a 300zx. it will be faster than a stock tt someday. but, i think i told you in another thread, my z will be very much babied. im not accusing you of anything, but dont treat me like an immature teenager cuz i'm not one. i hate when car enthusiasts do that, just cuz im 16 doesnt mean i dont know anything.

Re: Info on 300Zx

I did not intend to make you feel like a 'baby'... sorry. It's just that I'm hoping you guys pick the best car for yourselves! Call it experience, kid! Good Luck! And I can hardly wait to see your new Z's!

Re: Info on 300Zx

The insurance company should repay you for you car but no they will not repay for aftermarket products, maybe certain nismo parts that are certified by the dealership, and the problems on TT's Z's you are probably thinking of is the soft valves that the 90,91, and early 92's had, they were famous for mushrooming the valves and if you do go with ecu upgrade go with Jim Wolf technology he garauntees all his products and he actually make them don't get me wrong I don't dislike stillen its just that steve millen takes other comapnies products and slighty modifies them then puts stillen on it, plus JWT ecu and dual air intake system with exhaust is rated to be at 425HP, your choice thought.
