He told me that you can definately use a JWT ECU in a 2000+ car, but it is a REAL pain in the butt.


We have a few options:

1) find a wrecked 99 G20 and purchase the wiring harness. You can use a 95-97 JWT ECU w/ this harness but you will need to make a few minor wiring changes.

2) keep your stock 2000+ harness and rewire EVERY single wire on the connector to fit the 95-97 JWT ECU. (He said its a few days work, but saves the hassle of trying to find the 99 harness. Also he pointed out that this is what JWT did on their turbo SEMA B15 demo car)

3) find a complete BB or GTI-R DET with wiring harness and ECU. This will involve a lot of work as you will need to change sensors and other things (I forget the details).


Anyhow... if you have a 2000+ and want to turbo your car, you dont have to sit around and wait for JWT to come out w/ an ECU. You'll be waiting a long time. (Nothing against JWT, but I realize that 2000+ G20's are not their largest interest)


As much as a pain #2 will be, I think thats what I'm gonnna end up choosing.

anyway, yeh, repinning will be a bitch to do, especially for the interior/dash wiring. if anyone got a BB ecu and harness, make sure you know that because japanese cars are right hand driven, the length of the harness, converting it on to a lefthand driven car, will not be long enough on a few occasions...probably have to extend a few wires here and there...also, make sure you get a harness that has an electronic speed sensor...without it, i dont think your speedo would work.

I think if you could dig up some harness ends you might be able to make a conversion harness instead of cutting up your stock harness. I don't know it sounds like a pain in the arse either way.

Yeah, I was talking with Luke about that the other day, because I know Skunk makes harness conversions for Honda ECU's and we were saying that someone needs to make them for SR20's


The thing about making your own is that to make a converter it'd be even more work, not to mention needing to find connectors to waste from a harness...

Yay! I dont really know about the 240SX thing anymore. I want it but my Mom is screwing me over by not givin me funds. I also have to restore it before I start working on it. So it looks like im just going to use the money I got to mod the ish out of the G20... But im not sure! Ahhhhhh im going crazy here.
