Buying E36 323i Convertible. Any advice?

My family is about to buy an E36 323i Convertible. We went looking today and my Dad drove a 318i and 320i but said they were too underpowered so it looks like it's going to be a 323i automatic. Are there any particular problem areas we should look out for?

Re: Buying E36 323i Convertible. Any advice?

This is what we purchased as our first BMW Convertible. Ours is a 1999 E36 323i Convertible 60K miles. We are very pleased even though the power steering went out after 2 months.
