jesus that car is bloody immaculate. If i bought a car like that I'd be afraid to drive it anywhere in fear of scratching it or dirtying the interior. Its just so freakin immaculate right down to the exhaust. Yes $81000 is steep but i'm sure he musta spent a lot more than that building it to that stage of finesse and beauty. Not sure about the claimed $150,000 though, sounds like over-exageration.

I would rather go get a POS and fix it up than give some on 80 grand plus, numbers arent even matching.... wrong engine, wrong interior... there is no collection value of the car.

tis truely a beautiful car, probly well worth the money, however he forgot the first rule of building a car like that. you never get anything for blood, sweat and tears, and never the ammount of money youve spent on it. but i have to applaud him, the attention to detail on that car is increadable.

Re: $100K common price for 69 Camaro??
but to answer the thread question. no that is not a common price. for a resonably well resored example, probly 20-30k. unless its a ZL1 or yenko, those go for 100K or more.

Re: Re: $100K common price for 69 Camaro??
I don't know if there has EVER been a '69 Camaro worth 100K. I did see a 69 Z-28 sell for more than that at Barrett-Jackson auction last winter but that guy was going to buy the car 'no matter what'.
Seems that there is one born every minute. |

nice car, but over $150,000 invested and he went with an LT1?
i think something along the lines of an LS6 would have backed up that nice paintjob a little better

Re: $100K common price for 69 Camaro??
while it is a beautifull car no doubt, he lost the value when he put the lt1 and 6 spd in it. Like iroc said, you'll never get what you put in to it. You do a car like that and sell it, you just can't expect to get what you put into it. But, I love the seats..I wannem.

could somebody PLEASE explain to me why that car is so popular. i just saw an rs on the street and it didnt look half as good as everyone makes 1st gen out to be. in my opinion i think 4th gen camaros are the best looking, a lot of u would disagree with me but i wanna know why u like it... theres obviously NOTHING special about it, it looks like just about every other musclecar in the 60-70s era. and i do like it, but dont see whats so special in them that people will spend/buy them for so much. i dont like fords, but if i had my choice i think an old fastback or shelby looks a lot better than 1st gen camaros. of course u can slam it, put nice rims on it, tint the windows and all that, but u can do that to any car. so why do u people like them?
and an lt1 and a 6-speed DOES NOT cost $150,000, it doesnt matter how much modding u do to it he couldnt possibly spend that much on that car. its not like it has a goddamn ferrari engine in it. 110k is an outright rip-off... |

Re: $100K common price for 69 Camaro??
i suppose the reason is its a clean, beautiful classic, which is what some people perferr, kinda along the same lines as the 57 chevy, its a shoebox, in the grand scheme of things, not all that attractive, but i still would LOVE to have one. i personally dont like how the 4th gen camaros look because i think thy are too much like everything else. kinda cookie cutter and wind tunnel dependent. even though the 69 looks like every other muscle car to you, to alot of us we can actually tell the differnt cars apart from that era, whereas the cars today i can never even tell what brand they are. thats why i like the older ones. also my uncle had a 69 drag car which gave me my first sub 9sec pass. so of course im hooked
lol, and um, as far as the 150,000 bucks, there was quite a bit more put into that car than a LT1 and six speed. a whole lot more, the attention to detail was sick. i do think its overpriced, but its much more than just a drivetrain swap into a first gen.

4th gen is still very unique, i mean i agree 1st gen is a lot more rare, but 4th gen camaro does not look like any other car except firebird, and even then i can literally tell a camaro from a firebird a mile away. so no... thats not why u dont like the 4th(probably cuz u dont have one)... its one of the most distinctive cars on the road... the biggest problem with 4th gen are the way they're built for one-time use, something breaks, and u gotta take every single shit on the car apart. where as on old cars, all u gotta do to take anything out is unfasten a few bolts. oh well.. maybe 4th gen will gain popularity in a few years.
