A little worried..

hi everyone..
I need some of your expert advice.. this guy is parting out his 240sx and is willing to sell me the parts needed for an auto-to-manual conversion for about $800-$1000 (depending on how many parts he can get, he says). BTW I gave him the whole list of the parts needed to do the swap from 240sx.org. The thing is, how am I supposed to know if he's actually giving me the right parts? I have no idea how a lot of these parts look like and I don't know anyone who would... I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off and stuck with parts I don't need. (and who knows if the guy knows which parts are which either!) If there was someone around the Bay Area who could help me, it would be GREAT, but if not, what can I do?

Oh, and I have a AT 95 240sx se if that matters...

Thanks

complete list of needed materials....

http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/s14_5speed_swap.htm

$800-1000 sounds like a good deal (all parts from the dealer costs around $3.5k). id go for it, try to low ball him though, you might be able to get it for $6-700.

good luck

btw, i love your signature. that proves the superiority of women over men....that plus you girls look waaaaaay better in thongs

I actually used this link to get a list of the parts I needed from him, I guess what I mean is, how can i found out how the parts actually look like? I've tried searching for sites with pictures, but it's hard to find one. Anyone know of any sites where I cand find these pics, or if there are any sites?

Thanks

Re: A little worried..

so what you need are pictures of parts...well i dont have any pics, but a nissan 240sx FSM should have all the nessecry information.

i think you can buy one at a dealership for relatively cheap. good luck, and its really great that youre planing to do the conversion your self, most females dont even want to drive stick.

so keep us updated, post pics of your progress (and dont be afraid to be wearing nothing but a thong in them).

The guy noticed that something might be missing from this list... He asked if I needed the wire??

oh and he has everything except for:
pressure plate
upper shift boot and finisher plate

How hard are these to find and how much would they cost?

Thanks

Re: A little worried..

shift boot and finisher plate are not nessecary it just makes the interior nicer. the finisher platei is very hard to find used. (ive been looking for an s14 one for a while)

you COULD waste your hard-earned money and go to the dealer, but they dont sell interior pieces seperately. you'd hafta buy the whole center console and that runs $110.
