stock 97 brake pad replacement
I just bought a 97 civic lx and it needs front pad replace. I had the wheel off and could not determine how the pads are to be replaced. I would imagine one of the caliper bolts would have to be removed and then rotate the caliper back off the rotor. In that process I would need to loosen the 2nd caliper bolt to allow for it to come back off the rotor.
Am I on the right track here? Please advise. Thanks in advance for any insight you might provide. Toby |

When you are looking at the front of the rotor, their are 2 bolts on the back of the caliper. You can either remove both, or the top only, or the bottom only. When I change my pads i take out the top bolt and fold the caliper down(make sure to remove the pin that holds the brake line to the strut). I got a 96 civic lx. You will have to push the piston back in with either a C-Clamp or something else. I usually use a C-Clamp. Hope this helps.
