My question now 87 celica

I have an 87 celica just need help on figuring out what this rod is. I hit a tree goin about 40 and now my front tires look like this \ ___ /

which rod is this?

I cant remember the name for it so save my ass, but I can tell you that it is hooked to your steering. If you turn the wheel one way it should move.. Take that picture to a parts man somewhere and they can tell you what it is, and give you a price on another one..
