Does the Stillen HICAS eliminator kit fit?

I seem to have a problem with my HICAS system on my R32 GTS-t M-Spec. I have 1/4" play when I shake the left rear wheel at the sides, not top and bottom. The play seems to be at the rack end, as the ball joints and bushings on the hub end have no play. I can see the rod moving when I shake the wheel.

I'd be willing to toss the HICAS and replace it with the Stillen eliminator kit, but I need to know if it will fit the R32. Anybody know? Tyndago?

Is that the kit for the 300zx? If so, it looks like it would work.

Lock that damn thing out. I will be locking mine, as soon as I get my kits from Japan.

Not quite. Like this

The one you posted looks ok, though. Where does it come from? And does it cost less than the exorbitant Stillen price (US$314)

I was going to buy one of those stillen lockouts for $220, but I got a deal on one of those that I posted for $60.

I don't really care what they look like, since you really cannot see it, unless your on the ground looking for it.

I bought mine off of a friend in Japan.

Re: Does the Stillen HICAS eliminator kit fit?

Absolutely true. FOr the cost of the Stillen piece I can get a secondhand HICAS rack plus maybe a couple other bits.

Would be interested if you could find out where your friend got it from.

Re: Re: Does the Stillen HICAS eliminator kit fit?

Its a steel bar with some drilled plated welded on, and few bolts and nylocks.

Any semi competant enginering shop should be able to make one for the cost of the steel and labour, or maybe dozen or so beers if thier so inclined.
All they would need is the right measurements.

I fabricated one, but at the end of the day it cost me almost $20 to make and about 5 hours of labor. It was functional, but not pretty

So, I figure just spend $40 more to save 5 hours of my time.

Sky (and everyone), I am advised that this hicas eliminator is a good thing especially while driving on the track. Without the ETC switched on, which means, the ATESSA is at work while taking corners, the GTR will twitch its rear a bit just when you exit a corner and are lining up the car for the upcoming straight. It's not an oversteer but just a twitch and you would just need to power the car a teeny wee bit later than you would want to. My mech says that's the aftereffect of the Hicas. He said that he had installed a eliminator kit from nismo (if I am not mistaken) and the twitch is gone.
What's your experience using this eliminator thingy? I mean, if the twitch is gone, I reckon I cud improve by about 1 second per lap around the circuit.

Re: Does the Stillen HICAS eliminator kit fit?

Most track drivers seem to eliminate the HICAS for the handling benefits. Not sure what the time benefits would be, though.

How about the hydraulic lines? Can I just cap them off?

I want to lock it out for the simple reason that I do not want to kiss a motorway wall

If you just cap them off, you still have about 60lbs just sitting there doing nothing. Lock it out, and free up the weight.

Re: Does the Stillen HICAS eliminator kit fit?

Yeah, that's what I meant - toss the hydraulic actuator & replace it with a lightweight piece, and cap off the hydraulic lines. Was just wondering if they could be just capped off or if I needed to do something else.
