Re: H22 Civic?!

To be blunt, more than it's gonna be worth. Not to mention the weight and power of that engine in that car tend to make for some interesting... well, I've just heard more trouble than it's worth. My buddy has the same car, and was gonna do the same swap, but he found out it'd be better all around to go with a gsr swap instead. Just my 2 pennies.

Re: H22 Civic?!

My friend put one in his 95 LX; cost a little over $5000 with some small add-ons. But he did all the swap himself. I know finding the correct axle combo was a pain. Definently a better suspension is needed; the front sits a lot lower and the rear sits higher than normal. The motor itself is Loud in the car, but you sure can hear v-tec.

Re: H22 Civic?!

I think its gonna have a somewhat bad weight distribution. Suspension upgrades in the front is a must. With that model, why not go with the B16 or B18?

I know this guy where I live, he swapped an H22 in his 95 EX hatch, and then turboed it, its a nice setup, but you def. need to upgrade the suspension up front, that motor is so damn heavy. Things tight tho, he just got it dyno'd at like 360 or somethin at the wheels...shits insane

Re: H22 Civic?!

if your really into displacement and vtec i would go crv-tec any b-series v-tec head and a b20 block but thats my opinion also if looking to go turbo you could buy a ls complete and get the block sleeved to whatever the b20 is i forgot

go for the b16 if you're gunna shell out $5,000 for just an engine..H22 just isn't worth it.

Re: H22 Civic?!

A h22 is more powerful but not enough to make up for the extra weight. The same amount of money would be better spent on a SI or GSR motor and turbo it. Not to mention you save on axles and custom fabrication.
