ML 350 Carpet Wear

My nearly new (less than 10k miles) '93 ML 350 has severe carpet wear on the "hump" near the accelerator (above the mat). I had a '98 ML 320 which had everything else wrong with it, but did not wear that much in 100k miles.

Is there a service bulletin out about that on the ML 350? Is that covered in the warranty?

Ray

Re: ML 350 Carpet Wear

If your talking about an "03 ML 350 no there is no bulletin for carpet wear. Take it to your favorite dealer and they may replace the front section of the carpet under warranty. Just be sure to show the advisor or tech the wear on the carpet so they know what your complaint is.

Re: ML 350 Carpet Wear

We've just replaced a carpet under warranty in this model. Ask your local dealer to do an Eskulab, we set the description as "Carpet worn beyond reasonable limits, carpet is thread bare" and it came back zero percentage to customer, parts and labour (this will depend VERY MUCH on mileage). Which is great because it took one of my boys and an apprentice the best part of the day. Oh and the carpet aint cheap either!
