Question Ceramic VS Stainless Header

I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, and I know personal preference matters. But I want which one would most of y'all recommend. As far as , does one perform better than the other, durability, etc. I know the ceramic is supposed to stay cooler better than the stainless, but I need some info from people that have them. I am looking at getting a DC Sport 4-2-1 for my 96 accord ex, and match that up with the greddy SP cat-back exhaust system. ANY are welcome, thanks yall

Re: Ceramic VS Stainless Header

my uncle got the stainless on his mustang just because they were cheaper, and he wasnt going to be "showing" his engine compartment at any shows, hes just setting it up for racing. So if you were planning on going to shows, and u dont mind spending a little extra, go ceramic. If your Just going for sound and horsepower, go stainless.

Yeah I think you got them backwards too. Stainless cost more than the ceramic. And I don't want to rule out my option of one day being able to take it to a show... I guess I should cut you some slack though, I see that you are a ford lover . I'm sorry, I understand you can't help it..

Re: Ceramic VS Stainless Header

Ceramic headers are better. The retain more heat which makes your cat more efficient. As well as keeping some heat out of the engine bay which will help with the longevity of your rubber parts, not to mention keep your air charger cooler.
They may not look as good but they function better. I choose function over form anyday.

Re: Ceramic VS Stainless Header

hehehe i was just testing ya, no i really did mix em up. all i know is the ones that change color is what he went with, because he didnt care how they looked, since the rest of engine bay wasnt new looking (89 v8), and they were cheaper.

he bought 'em from jody, so i guess thats why he got them cheaper. (jody owns a race shop, and they went to school together)

Re: Ceramic VS Stainless Header

i just checked on it, maybe for imports they are more expensive, but for mustangs the stainless are cheaper (about $150 on some brands, lowest was $80 difference on bassani) and even the chrome headers (i dont know if this is different from stainless) are cheaper than the ceramic.
