1:18 Bugatti Veyron Coming Out! Being Made By Auto Art! Wow!

Thats right! AutoArt's making a Veyron. They're also coming out with the 18/3 Chiron. According to Scale18.com, the Veyron's supposed to be red and black, but the pictures aren't out yet. It's a "future release", so I don't know when it's coming out. In AutoArt, there are different divisions, such as the Performance Division, Police Division, Millenium Division, I think theres a Classics Division, etc. Even though the Veyron is definitely a performance car, for some strange reason it is under the Millenium Division.

My problem is, I don't know when it's going to be released. According to a Bugatti fan page, it's supposed to come out in May 2003, even as early as December 2002...well, right now it's August 2003, and it's not out. I'm guessing what is delaying it is the delay of the actual Veyron being released. Because of the loss of one of Bugattis bosses and various other reasons, the Veyron is not to be released until summer/fall 2004. For you considering buying it, once it's out you can probably get it off Scale18.com for a total of about $70-$80 including shipping and everything.

The reason for the delay would be this. Most likely Autoart has to wait for the design to be finalized unless they want to release a "concept version". The Bugatti actually was changed recently. The veyron now has brake vents streaking down the sides which would alter the look of the car drasticly. Autoart is not being hasty in making a good model and I have to respect that. Also they will have plenty of time to work on the engine and interior. A total mystery is the fact that the Diablo 6.0 VT has NOT been released although the model was offered for sale in 2001.....

Yea, and its pissing me off that they haven't released the 6.0 yet. I emailed them and they just said that it will come out real soon, so who knows. But now I have to add the Veyron to my list of "to get" items.

AutoArt actually released pics of the 'working model' quite a few months back. The most concrete evidence I've heard though is release is due around the end of the year.
