Weak Paint on 99 Camry plastic bumper and grill
Disappointment to say the least... more like anger. After only 4 months of light winter driving, the front of my mint 99 Camry is marked heavily from road grime and salt.
After bitching to Toyota, they told me it's a very common complaint with their customers. I wish they had mentioned something when I bought the car. Even if I buy a bra now (which I will have to do a.s.a.p) it's too late to fix the marks already there. It's too bad they decided to use plastic on the full front of the car. The metal hood lip is still perfect, so the problem here is simply a case of weak paint on plastic. |

Re: Weak Paint on 99 Camry plastic bumper and grill
My after market / crash paint is peeling / chipping on my '93 as well.
Seems there is some kind of additive that makes paints more plyable to stick to the plastic. Why the body shop doesn't step up and fix it is $$. They claim normal wear and tear. Like you said, "I wish they had mentioned something about this"...... Regards |
