Re: Beta Motors

...not really
the i4 is ai heavy piece of shit
and is utterly useless....
if it were lighter.. then yeah itll help
but adding all that shit.. then internal work.. and what not youre still adding weight
and later too much boost no more daily driver
...i4s day for being teh better engine is over now that there is more for teh v6
...sucks to be a beta!

that there is no spool up time however you lose hp in order to gain the hp (it takes hp away from the engine in order to turn the super chargers turbine)
A turbo charger also takes power to operate. It creates back pressure witch causes you to "lose hp in order to gain the hp" There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Also a super charger has some more advantages over a turbo becides insta-boost. It supplies much colder air, because it is not running off the exaust.

But the main advantage of a turbo is with a boost controler you can dial how much boost you want (So nisco you do not have "too much boost no more daily driver") You could dial down it to 4psi for putting around town then crank it up to 15psi if some punk wants to race. Also with a tubro your pretty much not limited to how much boost you can make. The max you are going to get out of a super charger is probly going to be around 12psi.

thats retarded.

just like saying...

in my n/a modded delta, i accidently shifted down to 2nd instead of 4th, but its the engines fault.

anyone that accidently sets boost to high cause they are retarded shouldnt have modded their car in the first place.

Re: Beta Motors

nisco... I'll tell you what... my car will be out of the shop on July 13th. At that point I will be turbo charged & intercooled with a CO2 system for the intercooler. In addition I'll be running with forged internals and a complete head package. Expected dyno should be just above 300bhp.... like you said, ONLY 250 at the wheels right? Well, if you're so sure of yourself why don't we pick somewhere between us to meet and race. Winner goes home with both titles. The gauntlet is thrown... care to accept?

Truth be known the tiburon, both I4 and V6 models, is one of the heaviest cars in the import tuner class. Just about the only thing heavier is the 3000GT which isn't even in production any more. There are a few others that are around the same weight but I can't remember them anymore. One thing is certain, compared to the Dodge Neon R/T the tiburon is an over weight b#@ch that seriously needs to go on a diet.

adam, at 250, you're getting close to the point where you need to go stand alone. the stock ecu cant handle reading that much air, and you wont be getting enough fuel, even with a piggyback system. atleast on a beta I, maybe the beta II ecu is a bit different though.

Complete stand alone fuel management and engine management systems are being installed
turbo/intercooler system w/CO2 intercooler mist and boost controller
port and polish "everything"
dual header back exhaust
big bore throttle
cams
Forged internals
tranny and drive train build

I don't have the rest of the list with me but that's a majority of the important components that are getting fitted and installed. Some of it is being custom build just for my car so it's getting pretty pricey but who cares... I've got the cash for it. When it's all on I will be having it tuned on a dyno and will post the results here. As I've said before, we're expecting a minimum of 300bhp but are hoping to actually have 300 at the wheels. Only other thing that I plan on doing for now will be getting a big brake system and sport tuning the suspension a little. All in all, I'll be adding about 150lbs to my car which will put me weighing about the same as a stock V6 with close to double the power. When I save more money I will be doing more... my goal is to run close to the same speed than our dual motor friend but with only one motor.... probobly pretty unrealistic but I've gotta have something to strive for or I will get bored. LOL

Any other questions, comments or concerns please post them here.

1. the dragonsys tib was running methanol. just though id say.

2. i wouldnt take out the spare tire if youre gonna be driving around on the street. it is a big part of the rear accident crush design for when you get slammed in the butt.
