Question Ventshield Replacement

The driver's side window ventshield on my GT two door has been coming off and I'd like to reattach it, meaning I'd have to remove the entire thing and reapply it. Is there anywhere I could get a replacement adhesive strip to reattach the thing? I'd like to keep the one I have now, if possible. If I can get the replacement adhesive, where would I buy the stuff? TIA for the help.

Re: Ventshield Replacement

Go to a hardware store and get contact cement. That should take care of you.

Do I just leave every thing in place as far as the old adhesive strip is concerned and just apply the contact cement to the part that's come I assume? And nothing to worry about as far as paint damage?

Re: Ventshield Replacement

YOu should not leave the old adhesive there. If you do most probably that it will fall again. You must make sure that the mating surfaces are clean almost sanded if possible and then apply the contact cement and follow the cement instructors
