96 jgc keyless remote

how do you program these damn things??? i have tried the turn key to on and then lock door manually but my remote does not a led. any tips? thanks in advance.

I've read before that a keyless remote for 96 and after needs to be programmed at the dealer. You cannot do it by yourself. That is what I found. I am not 100% sure, so anyone please follow up!
