Trade In for GTP or Mod GT

i have a 99 grand prix gt black sedan which i love, but i would like a little more power, i could either trade it in for a GTP (which i would have to wait about a year to do) or i could mod my GT...my current GP runs great and is in great condition interior/exterior for a car with 100K miles on it.

i plan on getting as much power as i can without sacrificing it being a streetable car

thanx for any input

Re: Trade In for GTP or Mod GT

With 100k on the clock I would just wait and get the GTP. Either that or find a motor/trans and swap it into the GT

would anyone recommend the HD conversion kit offered by intense-racing? seems like a good deal since it includes the LSD for around $1000 installed or would it be better to get a GTP tranny or even a racing tranny possibly? i don't want to spend a grand and then end up destroying it

Well if you misuse it you can spend whatever amount and you might brake it. You have to be careful

well, i prolly won't be racing it at the track every week or anything but i'm sure i'll have a few in town runs and i would still want to be able to drive it around town i mean i will "get on it" alot but not necessarily WOT all the time and even take it on some longer trips but i'm just wondering if the conversion kit is any good or if i should spend the extra $ and get a intense racing tranny, i would like it to in the end be a 12sec car, i just want to beef it up b4 i go and break somethin bc of too much power

Re: Re: Trade In for GTP or Mod GT

On a 100k transmission, I'd skip upgrading it. My suggestion to you, buy the Intense Trans with the upgraded input shaft and lsd with 3.69 gearing. Find yourself a low mileage L67 car wrecked, preferably a 99+ car. Jack the engine, the fuel system, the engine computer, and all the newer components. Get yourself a Zzp Intercooler, an Intense cam, a stage 2 throttle body, cold air induction, a 3.0 pulley, headers, some very grippy tires, and custom dhp programming.

Sell your L36 and the working GT trans on e-bay.

Leave the 3800V6 badges on the side
