Here's a neat French sport coupé that we never see in America!

This is a 1/18th scale Peugeot 406, made by Gate. I bought it as a kit and put it together in a couple of hours. I added aluminum tailpipe tips, sanded the tire treads, and maybe polished the paint a bit. I'd like to disassemble it again and add some more interior detailing, especially things like carpeting and more paint detail.

Also, the engine bay could use more paint detailing as well! Anyone know where I can find pictures of this car for reference? Peugeot's website possibly? Thanks for looking!

Very nice. The 406 is the only other Peugeot I would buy next to the 206.

I wouldn't say "never see in America". I've actually seen that car in blue in Paramus, NJ on Spring Valley Rd. and Forest Ave. several times over the last two years. I thought maybe it could be someone who brought into the country after making the move from Europe but, I think it may have had Vehicle Manufacturer plates. I know at one point they were thinking of coming back into the US market, it could be a company demo vehicle. It's about the size of the new Honda Accord Coupe, clean looking car, not that I'm a fan of Peugeots but thay've come a long way in style.

Thats a sweet looking car. You might want to check on google.com for some pics. I always look there first and can usually find what I'm looking for.

Not Staten Island, Forest Ave in Paramus, New Jersey

Saw the car again Tuesday on my way home. I've been thinking of a way to stop and ask the driver if I can take a few pics of it. The area is heavily trafficked and we always pass each other in different directions. I'd love some pictures for my reference files.

Re: Nice car

The come back of Peugeot is not official, but many journalists are saying that it's almost sure that they will reenter the North American market arround 2009.
The 406 Coupé (we have one ), which appeared in 1997 and design by Pininfarina, will be replaced by the 407 Coupé in 2005 after the 407 sedan and SW will have replaced the 406 sedan and SW. This 406 Coupé is not only a wonderful car but has also (as all Peugeots) an excellent handling and confort.
Go on www.peugeot.com to know more on these cars.... or even on the Peugeot part of the AUTOMOTIVEFORUMS

If it can help you, engines available on the 406 COupé are :
2.0 16s 138hp automatic
2.2 16s 160hp
3.0 V6 210hp
2.2 Hdi 136hp (diesel)
and a V6 Biturbo 400hp have been available from 98 to 2002 (by Alesia)... but it was quite expensive !
