Oil Change that Went Wrong!! MUST READ

I recently took my VW Passat in for an oil change (not VW dealership but 3rd party, Professional chain). They drained the Transmission Fluid and added oil to engine, on top of existing oil. Uncommon but can happen if a tech has not worked on VW's (synthetic fluid, looks like eng oil). So, I had no transmission fluid, 4qts too much eng oil. The car continued to run, but not very long.
News is... transmission is shot! $6400 thru dealership for new one and the place who handled the oil change is trying to deny any wrong doing. This message serves as a warning that VW dearships claim this as a continuous problem.
Also, if anyone has any experience w/this happening, please reply or send private mesg. I need all the advice I can get as I'm going through this right now.

Thanks!

Re: Oil Change that Went Wrong!! MUST READ

I have kind of lost trust in oil change places... there is one near my home town that I trust to do a good job but when I am at school I am forced to use a different place... there was a place I had been going to here in my area that stripped my oil drain plug threads 3 times in a row. I mean come on how hard is it? The last time they even tried to charge me for the labor to fix the threads and instal a new plug!! I told them to stuff it, got my money back and havent gone back there since.
