Re: D16y8
I'm not totally disagreeing with SilverY2KCivic , but D series motors are not capable of the same power as a B, H and especially a K series motor, especially under boost.200-300 is average, 350-600hp is an easy jump, but D series usually hit a plain around 250. Another bad thing about D's is hte tranny, my friend has gone through three D16Z6 trannies.
Bisi motor was sooo far from a D series it isn't even funny, I mean come on, he specs his own cams, pistons, destroked it, everything is custom built to his specs. And the F22, I forget, but it isn't running a F22 tranny, he had an adapter plate made to run something else. Point is D series are highly underestimated, but ti takes a LOT of work to make them really fast. I have beat a blown D15B in my B16A hatch, granted he was only running the 6psi pulley, but till, you get the idea. The reason you lose power out of turbo cams and no turbo is because the profiles are less agressive to help calm detonation.
