Stalled,,,help!

Well, I had just posted about how poor my car was running and have not received an answer yet. I needed to make a short drive so I hopped in it and drove for 2 miles and it died while driving. This has been happening but it has always restarted. Today, it would not restart and still won't. I towed it home and now need some advice as where to begin. I hope this will be an easier to pinpoint now that it is no longer an intermittent problem!

You have to check for two things, does it have fuel and spark? That will eliminate as to where the problem lies. Let us know.

I just logged on here to talk about my problem, and saw yours, which is exactly what I have been dealing with for the last 2 weeks. I hope your situation turns out better than mine. First, a tune-up is maybe all you need. Try checking and cleaning the fuel injectors. Check your fuel filter for dirt and clogs. Have your catalytic converter checked for damage and corrosion, and the crankshaft sensor checked. I had all of the above done and replaced, to no avail. Finally, after 2 frustrating weeks and $1,000 later, I had a new computer installed. I would say to avoid a lot of time and frustration, go directly to a place like AAA and have your car connected to a diagnostic analyzer. This can pin-point the problem better than the process of elimination I just went through. It will cost probably $100-150, but is worth it. I wish I had done that in the first place. Good Luck. Let me know how is goes.

Re: Stalled,,,help!

just got finished fixing my 1991 Lumina with 234,000 miles with the problem of stalling after a couple of miles worth of driving. I changed the crank sensor and the ignition module. I used the same coil packs and attached the 3 of them to the new module. Make sure when you unattach the plug wires, you label them.
