Cars and their Engines! (Years, Makes, Models, etc...)

Hey Guys,

I've been into cars for quite some time now, but it was mostly from reading magazines and HowStuffWorks articles. I feel like I have the basics and would like to get into intermediate and advanced auto-mechanics and just general knowledge of cars.

I would like this thread to be able to help all of the many people like myself who scour the internet searching for scattered pieces of car knowledge. I want this knowledge to be concentrated in the comparisons of various car models and engines, knowledge of why certain models are good, why certain engines are good, what swaps could be made to certain models, what are the best mods to certain engines, what turbo-chargers and super-charges go good with certain models/engines, and basically anything that is important in the comparison of cars and engines in relation to each other.

I would really like for anyone and everyone to participate in this thread and contribute to its great potential to be a good overall primer for car lovers.

First of all welcome to AF.


Your thread ideea is very interesting. However its been debated by the moderating team to be to broad in subject. In our experience this type of threads will become a comglomerate of random comparisons and it will become very confusing.

If you would like to take the ideeas you posted previously and make them into specific treads you are more than welcomed to. This way we can separate and focus on each ideea properly without getting them mixed up.

So for now this thread will be closed.
