Angry 1997 Park Ave Ultra -No Brake Lights

I am currently troubleshooting my 97 Ultra for no brake lights. The 20 Amp stop light fuse in the underhood BEC center has blown a dozen times. Per the manual I have replaced the brake light switch on the brake pedal with no effect. The next step per the manual is look for shorted wires between the brake light switch and underhood BEC center. If none are found replace the Lamp Control Module (LCM) !! My question is has anyone had any issues with wire bundles being pinched / broken with the brake light system ? Also are these LCM's a common item to replace ($ 180) ? I purchased this vehicle a year ago with 66K miles and have had the usual, what I consider minor problems, ie: serp. belt and idler pulley. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Again:

The dealer found a short under the Main Engine fuse block (UBEC) located on the right wheel well. Happy Motoring !
