Cant find the Oil press. sensor!

Can anybody tell me where to find the oil pressure sensor on a '86 ranger? The gauge works only when it wants to. Got plenty of oil pressure, just no gauge! Haynes book is no help, should be pretty easy to replace, just cant find it!
